Welcome to B.E.C.A.

The Buddhist Eco-Chaplaincy Association (BECA) is a peer-led community of trained and certified Buddhist eco-chaplains. BECA was founded in Spring 2025 by teachers, students, and alumni of the Sati Center’s Buddhist Eco-Chaplaincy Training. BECA is an official project of the Sati Center.

Our Vision

green plant

We envision the liberation of all sentient beings.

While our practice springs from a Buddhist root, we welcome connection with eco-chaplains of all backgrounds and traditions.

We aspire towards a world where all beings are beheld worthy of reverence and respect, offered dignified, compassionate care, and honored as inherently and unconditionally belonging to the web of all life.

We organize collective offerings, programs, and events in service of humans and our communities, the more-than-human, and the Earth. We also connect individuals and groups seeking care to eco-chaplains and their services.

We’re building a community for Buddhist eco-chaplain collaboration, mutual support, and continued professional development and education as spiritual caretakers.

We work to uplift, build awareness, and tell the story of eco-chaplaincy as a practice of spiritual care.
