Join us on Tuesday, September 29 for "At the Threshold"

"At the Threshold," an online panel discussion series about Buddhist eco-chaplaincy and Buddhist spiritual care in general, has been off to a dynamic start. The series is a meaningful collaboration between the Brooklyn Zen Center and BECA, and has been helping stimulate our imaginations around how Buddhists can show up with care for a world in transition.

In June, BECA's Nikayla Jefferson moderated the first panel discussion between panelists Kirsten Rudestam, Shoshanna Perry, and Binuta Sudhakaran: What is Buddhist Eco-Chaplaincy: Responding to Eco-crisis From the Cushion to the Earth. You can find the recording to that panel here (passcode is @DNX5Nc+).

In July, Ram Appalaraju moderated the second panel discussion between panelists Sarah Vekasi and Chris Goto-Jones: "The Dharma of Upheaval: What Does Buddhist Eco-Chaplaincy Look Like in the World?" You can find the recording to the second panel here (passcode is !A1rl5+K).

On September 29, we are looking forward to continuing the conversation with Brooklyn Zen Centers’s Sarah Dōjin Emerson, and New York community organizer, Rebecca Johnson, for the third in this series: Spiritual Care for the Poly-Crisis: Buddhist spiritual care at the intersection of the environmental crisis and systems of racial, gender and economic harm.
